Ndwenga is an elementary and secondary school in Kinshasa (DRC) visited by more than 500 pupils from 3 to 18 years old, including children that had been taken out of the street.
The German association Ndwenga e.V. is supporting the school with diverse projects and is currently looking for complementary funds for the installation of a solar energy plant on the roof of one of the main buildings to help the school being energetically independent. At the moment, the school spends public power to supply its energetic needs, but there happen very often power breakouts lasting several days. Besides, the very unstable frequence of power damages the computers and ny other electronic equipment on the long term.

The association submitted an application to the Foundation for Development Cooperation of the State of Baden-Württemberg (SEZ) to get funds for this project and is waiting for the decision of the selection committee. But the foundation can cover only part of the project's total costs (20.000 €). This is why we are still looking for funds.
